I love to have my space pretty organized, which means acquiring all of the tools to do so. However, this can usually be a pretty pricy endeavor.
So I try to keep my eyes peeled for items I can use at the thrift store to stay organized.
Here are a few ways that I organize my home with thrifted items.
1. Baskets
Baskets come a dime a dozen in most thrift stores and you will most likely find all shapes and sizes. Use some of the taller ones to hold toilet paper in the bathroom and some of the flatter one’s to hold magazines. If you find one large enough to use as a hamper then grab it quickly because those are rare!
magazines, toilet paper, knick knacks, arts and crafts, school materials
2. Glass Jars
There are plenty of uses for glass jars around your home. I especially love mason jars to place flowers in or pencils.
Snacks
3. Empty boxes
Boxes always come in handy, if you find shoe boxes (or have old ones somewhere in your house now) repurpose them to hold papers in until you can get around to them. You can also cut up boxes to use as dividers in your drawers.
4. Old vintage suit cases
Old vintage suit cases can be so beautiful when repurposed. They can serve not only as added decor but make great storage as well.
5. Clear hanging organizers
If you don’t do many crafts but run across a clear organizer make sure you snag it. I have a lot of my earrings hanging in clear organizers and it works like a charm.
6. Beautiful old glasses
While you may not want to drink out of these glasses (I discuss a little about that in this article), they make beaufitul holders for smaller items like Q-tips and cotton balls.
That is what I use these glasses for
7. Old trays
I love finding old wooden trays to repurpose. You can use them to hold just about anything including snacks or bathroom items. .
8. Chests
If I see a large (or small) chest at the thrift store I’m making a bee line. This is because they make such great storage but also depending on the style can add to the ambiance of your home.

What great things have you found and used to repurpose?
